Kick-off Event

On November 29, 2019, the new Music and Minorities Research Center of Wittgenstein laureate Ursula Hemetek was presented to the public. The research center is dedicated to ethnomusicological minority research. At the kick-off event, research focuses, planned activities and cooperations of the research center were presented. Speakers included mdw rector Ulrike Sych, FWF president Klement Tockner, Initiative Minderheiten secretary general Cornelia Kogoj, MMRC director Ursula Hemetek and her team, as well as representatives of the international MMRC advisory board: Naila Ceribašić, Marko Kölbl and Svanibor Pettan. The musicians of klezmer reloaded created the musical framework.
